Job description

As an inspiring leader of the Centre for Educational Support, you will play a leading role in translating the university's new strategy document, ‘Shaping 2030’, into a future-oriented and widely supported form of educational organisation and support. Based on the new strategy, the focus of the Centre for Educational Support is on areas such as student well-being, digitisation, flexibility in support processes, internationalisation and lifelong learning.

The director we are looking for will, together with the team, be able to translate these focus areas and policies into efficient operational processes and excellent professional services. You will aim for constructive cooperation with the Faculty Boards and the management teams of the service departments and will therefore be quick to pick on signals and improve processes and services accordingly. The core values of ‘customer-oriented service’ and ‘intensive co-creation’ will play an essential role in this. Because you will not only act as a service provider, but also have a vision of innovation and advise stakeholders to take an active and innovative approach, building on the substantive expertise of the clients of the Centre for Educational Support.

Last but certainly not least, the director will be able to place himself or herself in the position of the student, resulting in excellent contact and communication with students, study associations and student associations (both national and international) and umbrella student organisations.

Competencies

  • Analytical and innovative
  • Unifying and empathetic
  • Sensitive to political and organisational issues
  • Excellent intercultural skills, with a focus on inclusivity

Profile

  • You have an academic level of professional and intellectual ability, and you have at least five years’ experience of working in a management position in higher education;
  • You can forge connections and act as an appropriate representative for the Centre for Educational Support;
  • You have an excellent sense for complex administrative and political relationships within a complex organisation;
  • You have an affinity with our university’s core values and way of working;
  • You have an excellent command of both Dutch and English, both spoken and written (at least C1 level, preferably C2 level).
